According to information available, two young men descended at the new grain market residence of Rulda Singh yesterday around 10.30 pm and opened fire on him as he entered his house after parking his car in the garage. Family members of the leader rushed him to Government Rajindra Hospital from where he was shifted to the PGI in Chandgiarh.

RK Sharma, SP (City), said senior police officers had visited the residence of Rulda Singh immediately on getting information of the attack. Sharma said an NRI, Dalbir Kaur, had been questioned in connection with the attack. Rulda Singh is reported to have spent some time with the said woman who had approached him for help in some case.

Dalbir Kaur is reported to have told the police that she could identify the attackers.

Balwant Rai, Patiala BJP chief, said Rulda Singh had told that he was hit by six bullets. He said while doctors at the Government Rajindra Hospital were able to remove four of the bullets from the body of Rulda Singh, two were still embedded in the body when he was referred to the PGI.

The court sentenced them to five years under Sections 4 and 5, Explosive Substances Act, and fined them Rs 500 each. They were also sentenced to two years under Section 411, IPC. Both sentences shall run concurrently. All four accused were present in the court at the time of the pronouncement of the judgement.

Such a meeting was held at Sunam, 13 km from here, yesterday. In the meeting, besides workers Baldev Singh Mann and Surjit Kaur Barnala, two SGPC members Nirmal Singh Bharo and Kirpal Singh Lad Banjara took part.

This Sukhdev Sinh is literally watering down Guru Sahib's prescribed Strict Code of Conduct.

The Sikh Faith is not a missionary religion that advocates trying to convert people to the Faith—we already have enough Sikhs that still need to convert to Gurmat based Sikhi already. Sikhi is definitely about Quality and not Quantity, in contrary to Sukhdev Sinh's
heretical “Sikhi”. “SWAM” can't go around trying to convert people when their so called “jathedar" can not even properly follow Sikhi himself. First thing the Jatha should do is follow Sikhi properly before trying to convert anyone. Sikhs lead by example and don’t try to convert anyone to the faith as other missionary faiths do. Not only does Sukhdev Sinh want to try to propagate his ridiculous manmat of trying to change Sri Guru Granth Sahib's name and making his own version of Amrit, but also tries to tell his chelas that the Kirpan, Kachera, and Turban are outdated and not useful, so he also has his own rules or Conduct which he thinks a modern Baptized Sikh should follow.

Through his blasphemous and backwards parchaar, he is misleading many Sikhs based in Malaysia and everywhere he travels, touring as some “enlightened Baba”. On his website he is attempting to fundraise by telling his followers to donate dasvand to further his agenda of trying to change Sikhi. In addition, Sukhdev has been spotted at numerious occasions indulging in unacceptable behavior with members of the opposite sex. His so-called blessing is not only unacceptable, but truly blasphemous and derogatory.

Malaysian Sikhs following Sri Guru Gobind Singh's True Rehat want Sukhdev Sinh to stop his manmat. They are being threatened by his foolish followers with different types of harassment and blackmail. He himself posts on his blog and website of the issues brought up in any of the debunking debates held on forums recently over the internet. Nobody opposing “SWAM” is making any false claims about his agenda, but he openly tries to spread his manmat through different flyers, personal communication, and internet websites.

Gursikhs in Malaysia as well as Sikhs from many parts of the world want him to engage in an open public and videotaped discussion with Sikh Scholars to explain what he is trying to implement on Sikh youth through his anti-Gurmat Parchaar. If he ignores and is insistent on further spreading his false teachings while claiming to be a Sikh then he should be summoned before Sri Akal Takhat Sahib for trying to change Sikhi and spreading his misleading manmat and highly mischievous preaching.

Strict Gurmat Sikhi has been permanently set forth for the strongest to obtain Guru's blessings. All the false will lose their wager on falsehood by giving their chance of understanding Guru's teachings by trading the mind's jewels for mere worldly glass.

In a press statement Ghubaiya described these allegations leveled against him ‘as absolutely imaginative, totally baseless and politically motivated’, as he had not any acquaintance neither with the victim nor with the accused. S.Ghubaiya categorically said that he had been deliberately implicated in the case by his political opponents to tarnish his sanguine image in the border belt.

Giving details about the crackdown, SP said, “We received a secret information that a woman, Charanjit Kaur alias Channo, along with her son Rajinder Singh, was running flesh trade in Shimlapuri”.

A team raided the brothel and arrested the girls who were indulged in prostitution. Four customers were also nabbed from the spot. The accused have been identified as Hansraj, Pritpal Singh, Naranjan Singh and Jasvir Singh.

Police sources said accused Charanjit Kaur had even forced her elder daughter into this trade and was now compelling her younger daughter and daughter-in-law into the trade. Sources further said the younger daughter and daughter-in-law had even met SSP Sukhchain Singh Gill a few days ago and briefed him about the matter.,P> The daughter-in-law of the accused alleged that her husband and mother-in-law were running this trade under the garb of dance group. She alleged her husband was working as a pimp.

The police has also confiscated a few mobile phones from the accused. The sources said the mobile had vital details and phones numbers of some noted Punjabi singers. Two out of the six girls arrested for prostitution are resident of Nepal and recently came from Delhi.

While another girl, who is nabbed, is from Uttar Pradesh. The sources said the girl from Moga, who is said to be a close relative of Channo, was also pushed into prostitution. SP Kalia said all accused had been booked for the Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act.

Meanwhile, the elder daughter of Charanjit Kaur Channo, who was nabbed on the flesh trade by the CIA- I police last night, turned out to be a noted dancer, who has also worked in a dance sequence with Big- B Amitabh Bachchan in a film “Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyo”, five years ago.

Not only this, she has also worked in 12 Punjabi music albums so far and even performed in Victoria Palace in Birmingham last year.

Police sources said Preeto (Name Changed) used to offer money and used to pursade girls from poor families to get into flesh trade.

According to the police, she used to persuade girls working along with her during the shooting of Punjabi pop songs. Besides Preeto has a huge network, which spreads across Delhi.

According to the police sources, she used to arrange girls from Delhi. Police sources said the girls facing financial crunch were often targeted by Preeto.

Sources said recently Preeto came across Preety and Neetu Sharma, both Nepalese, who were working for a dance group in Delhi.

Preeto persuaded both of them and managed to get them into this trade.

Though, all of them claimed innocence and said they do dance shows only, the bother of Preeto, Rajinder Singh, who was working as a pimp, cracked soon during the interrogation and confessed of running a brothel.

The incident, which occurred at 11.30 am, was preceded by a heated argument.

The Punjab police authorities, who have reported the matter to the Chandigarh police have placed the SI identified as Sarjivan Singh under suspension. DIG (Administration), Intelligence wing, RN Dhoke disclosed that a departmental inquiry had been initiated against the SI.

The woman constable Sukhdarsahan Kaur was taken to Sector 16 General Hospital. She suffered swelling on the forehead due to the beating.

The disgruntled farmers from across Punjab flayed the state government for its failure to ensure eight hours of power supply to the fields. Not only this the government had enhanced the fee for increasing the power load in the fields for electric motors from Rs 1,200 to Rs 3,800.

The agitated farmers put the Chandigarh police on the back foot, which had fortified the area by setting up barricades since morning. Defying the police pickets, the farmers, who were adamant on staging a rally on the road, blocked the traffic. Unable to convince the farmers to take their dharna to the Rally Ground in Sector 25, the police began making arrangements for talks between the union leaders and the government authorities.

Around 3 pm, ASP (Central) Madur Verma and DSP (East) Jasbir Singh Cheema managed to placate the farmers by ensuring them that Agriculture Minister Sucha Singh Langah would come to take their memorandum.

Trouble mounted up again for the police, when a joint secretary of the department concerned came instead of Langah to take the memorandum. The farmer gave an ultimatum to the police that they would march towards the Civil Secretariat and president of the union Balkar Singh Dakoda insisted on handing over the memorandum to some higher functionary of the government.

The police contacted the government officials following which the OSD of Chief Minister came to the rally venue and took the memorandum.

The farmer asked the government to roll back the enhanced fee and ensure 12 hours of power in the fields, allotting new connections to the small and marginal farmers besides other demands.

Akal Takht’s Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh said here that they had been receiving complaints in this regard. He urged the Sikh community to initiate action against the persons who were installing Nishan Sahib to grab land.

Meanwhile, Balwant Singh Sihorewala of Gurdwara Mastuana Sahib appeared before the Takht and clarified his position with regard to the Golden Temple lookalike gurdwara situated at Mastuana, near Sangrur.

He said he had nothing to do with the gurdwara as it had been constructed by keeping in view the sentiments of Sikh devotees. He was totally devoted to the Takht and would abide by the directions issued by it.

Meanwhile, Jathedar Gurbachan Singh asked the community to restrain from printing their photographs on posters along with that of Gurus during religious ceremonies.

Giani Gurbachan Singh further said birs of Guru Granth Sahib should not be taken to palaces for solemnising marriages. He warned the Sikh community living in foreign countries not to make changes in ardas.

He said they had resolved the differences among two warring groups of the Sikh sanghat of Muzzafarpur by directing that they could set up a management training college near the old gurdwara complex besides constructing a new gurdwara complex at the site.

He, however, instructed them that the height of the shrine should be more than that of the college.
